How To Setup Brother Web Connect

  • The Brother Web Connect feature helps you to perform any printer-related operation on your Brother printer and save or send it over a network. You can access almost all the web services using the Brother Web Connect feature. Some of them are Flickr, Facebook, Google Drive, Evernote, Dropbox, OneDrive, OneNote, and Box.
  • To know how to set up your Brother printer Web Connect feature, read and proceed with the guided instructions given below.
  • To use the Brother Web Connect feature, you need a valid service account and internet connection.
  • Before you begin the Brother Web Connect configuration, make sure that your Brother printer is set up correctly and connected to the Internet.

Step 1: 

      
  • Install the Brother MFL- Pro Suite on your computer system.
  • Make sure that your computer system is connected to a stable network connection.
  • Check your network settings. If it has a proxy server, then make sure to configure your network’s proxy server address, port number, user name and password on your Brother printer.
  • To configure the above information on your Brother DCP- J552DW/ J752DW printer, follow the instructions given below.
  • Switch on your Brother printer and navigate to the Settings section.
  • Select All Settings --> Network --> Web Connect Settings --> Proxy Settings --> Proxy Connection.
  • Perform the on-screen instructions to complete the configuration.

Step 2:

  • Make sure that you have an account in the desired service.
  • If not, create the one and then continue with the process.

Step 3: Initiate the Brother Web Connect on your system and get a temporary ID.

  • Navigate to the official site of the Brother printer.
  • Select the services from the list.
  • Now, the Terms of Use for Brother Web Connect window will open.
  • Read and click the Agree button.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to finish the registration.
  • Once it is done, the Finished the registration message will appear on the screen.
  • Make sure to note down the temporary ID displayed on the same screen.

Step 4: 

    (1) Apply for Brother Web Connect from the Brother printer’s control panel.

    • Turn on your Brother printer if it is turned OFF.
    • Navigate to the More section and select the Web option.
    • Press the OK button. Follow the on-screen instructions.
    • When prompted, press the Register/ Delete Account button followed by Register Account.
    • Enter your desired services temporary ID in the given field and press the OK button.
    • Enter the name and other details in the required fields when prompted.
    • Select the Yes option on the Information Do you want to protect this account with a PIN code? message.
    • Create a four-digit PIN and press the OK button.
    • Finally, the Information Registered message will appear on the screen and press the OK button on your Brother printer’s control panel to exit from it.

(2) Apply for Brother Web Connect access using the Brother MFL-Pro Suite application.

  • You have to perform this method on your computer system.
  • Switch on your computer system and connect it to the stable network.
  • Make sure that the Brother MFL-Pro Suite application is installed on your system.
  • To access the Brother Web Connect page from your Windows 8 system, follow the instructions given below.
  • Locate and double-click the Brother utility file.
  • Choose your Brother printer model from the drop-down list.
  • You can find the Use More option on the left-hand side of the screen, click it and select the Brother Web Connect option.
  • Perform the on-screen instructions until you are able to access a web service.
  • To get remote assistance for the same, click the Call button available on this screen.

After completing the Brother Web Connect configuration, try to perform a test scan operation by following the instructions given below.

  • Make sure that your Brother printer is ready for the scan operation.
  • Select the Web option. Now, the information related to the Internet Connection will be displayed on the screen.
  • Read and accept it by pressing the OK button on your Brother printer’s control panel.
  • Choose the Services option from the list.
  • Using the arrow keys, select your account name and press the OK button.
  • Enter the four-digit PIN in the given field.
  • Select the Upload: Scanner option.
  • Set other preferences as per your need.
  • Once your Brother printer completes the scanning, the scanned copy will be uploaded into the selected web service automatically.
