BROTHER HL B2000D PRINTER NOT CONNECTED

The “Brother HL-B2000D printer not connected” issue is usually encountered while using the Brother iPrint&Scan app to perform the print operation. If you’re also encountering the same error, then try the simple troubleshooting instructions given below to fix it. Basically, this issue occurs due to an improper connection between the Brother printer and your computer. So, first, check the connection between the devices.

For USB

  • Initially, make sure that your printer is turned on.
  • Next, check if the printer’s LED indicator is displaying any error. If yes, perform the necessary steps to fix it.
  • Check if the Brother printer is connected directly to your computer using the USB cable. If you’ve used a USB hub for the connection setup, then unplug the printer from it and connect the printer directly to your computer.
  • If you encounter this issue, even after both the devices are connected together, then restart your printer and the computer.

For wired

  • If your connectivity type is wired, then make sure that the Ethernet cable is connected securely at both ends. 
  • Restart your Brother printer and the computer.

For wireless

If you receive the error message “Brother HL-B2000D printer not connected,” even after resolving the connection issue, then update the Brother iPrint&Scan application. After updating the application, try to connect the printer to your computer.

BROTHER HL B2000D PRINTER OFFLINE

If your Brother HL-B2000D printer status is displayed as “offline” or “paused,” then try the simple troubleshooting instructions given below.

  • Initially, make sure that your Brother printer’s Power light is turned on.
  • In case the power light is not turned on, then check whether the power cord is connected securely at both ends. Unplug and reconnect the cable if it is not connected securely. 
  • Make sure that the power cord is connected to an active wall outlet.
  • Check if any error message like Paper Jam is displayed on your printer’s LCD. If yes, clear it, and then perform the print operation.
  • Another important thing you have to make sure is, your computer (Windows or Mac) and the Brother printer should be connected to the same network.
  • If your OS type is Windows, then check whether you have set the printer as the default one on your computer. To set the printer as default, go to the Devices and Printers screen and right-click on your printer. Click on the Set as default printer option. 
  • Similarly, if your OS type is Mac, then try to re-add the printer to your Mac computer to fix the offline printer issue. To re-add the printer, remove the printer from the printer's list and then add it. On the Print & Scan screen, select the Brother printer and click on the Minus button followed by Delete. Once the printer is removed successfully, re-add it by clicking the Plus button below the Printers list.
  • Restart your Brother printer and the computer if necessary.
  • Reinstall the printer driver if you have installed the wrong one on your computer.

BROTHER HL B2000D NOT CONNECTING TO WIFI

If your Brother HL-B2000D printer is not connecting to the selected Wi-Fi network, then try the simple troubleshooting instructions given below.

  • Initially, make sure that your Brother printer is placed within the range of your wireless router or access point.
  • Next, check if your wireless router is turned on. If not, turn it on.
  • Make sure that you have entered your network’s SSID and password correctly in the given fields.
  • Check to make sure that your network’s firewall or the security software installed on your computer is not blocking the connection between the printer and your wireless router.
  • Restart your wireless router and the printer.
  • If your computer’s OS type is Windows, then use the Network Connection Repair tool to fix the wireless connection. To do so, open the Brother Utilities on your computer and click on the Tools tab followed by the Network Connection Repair Tool option. Run the tool by following the prompts displayed on the screen. Resolve the detected Brother HL B2000D Troubleshooting issue by performing the troubleshooting instructions suggested on the screen.
  • Similarly, you can print the network configuration report to check the status of your printer’s network. To do so, from the printer’s home screen, select the Print Reports option and press OK. Choose Network Config > OK > Go. BROTHER HL B2000D NOT PRINTING

  • Initially, turn on your Brother HL-B2000D printer if it is turned off.
  • Next, make sure that your computer (Windows or Mac) and the printer are connected to the same network. 
  • Re-install the printer driver on your computer if you have installed the incorrect one.
  • Check whether any error message or code is displayed on your printer’s LCD. If yes, clear it first, and then perform the print operation.
  • If you’re a Windows user, then check whether the Use Printer Offline option is enabled on your printer. To check and disable this option, open the Hardware and Sound window and click on the View devices and Printers option. Now, select and right-click on your Brother printer. Click See what’s printing > Printer and deselect the Use Printer offline option if it is selected.
  • Similarly, if you’re a Mac user, then re-add the Brother printer on your computer.
  • If the printer is not responding to the print operation, then check whether your printer is selected correctly in the Print properties dialog box. Select your printer if it is not selected correctly.
  • Check whether the paper tray has enough paper to perform the print operation. If not, load the tray with enough paper.
  • Make sure that the toner cartridge and the drum unit assembly are installed properly on your printer.

BROTHER HL B2000D SCANNER NOT WORKING

Brother HL-B2000D is a single-functional printer that supports only the print function, and other printer functions like scan, copy, and fax are not supported by this printer.

BROTHER HL B2000D PAPER JAM

Basically, paper can jam in the following parts of your Brother HL-B2000D printer: paper tray, back of the printer, inside the printer, and in the 2-sided tray. As soon as the printer’s LED indicator indicates the paper jam issue, restart the printer. If the same paper jam indicator is displayed on the printer’s LCD, then look for the jammed paper in the above-mentioned parts and remove it. For example, to remove the jammed paper from the paper tray, follow the below instructions.

  • Remove your Brother printer’s paper tray.
  • Now, gently, pull out the jammed paper stuck in the tray.
  • Make sure that the jammed or stuck paper is not damaged further while removing it.
  • After removing the jammed paper from the paper tray, reload the tray, and perform the print operation.
  • If the printer prints the test document successfully, it means the paper jam issue is resolved. Otherwise, look for the jammed paper in the other parts of the printer and remove it.

BROTHER HL B2000D PRINTING BLANK PAGES

If your Brother printer is printing only the blank pages, then try these simple troubleshooting instructions to fix it.

  • Initially, make sure that you’re using the media type that is recommended by the printer manufacturer.
  • Next, check whether the toner cartridge has enough toner to perform the printer operation. Usually, when the toner level becomes low or empty, the LED on the printer’s control panel starts to flash.
  • If your printer's toner cartridge is low or empty, then replace it with a new one. To do so, first, get the replacement toner from a trusted store. Open your printer’s front cover and take the empty toner cartridge out of the printer. Now, unpack and install the new cartridge in the printer. Close the front cover.
  • If the document that you’re printing has blank pages, then select the Skip Blank pages option while configuring the print settings.
